Social Butterfly - Girls Night Out
About the founder of Social Butterfly.

Born in 1971 on the beautiful Gold Coast, I grew up and completed my schooling here. I Eagerly embarked on that adventure called life, travelling and working both in Australia and abroad. Although I haven’t married yet I’ve been having a very passionate affair with life for years. Through all my experiences I have been very fortunate enough to have met some amazing people and formed some wonderful friendships. My friends have taught me some very important life lessons, they have helped me to grow and challenged me to be the best person I can be.

In 2007, I reached a pinnacle in my career when I was recruited to serve in the United Nations mission in West Africa. This proved to be my biggest life challenge yet and gave me a great opportunity for some real self- introspection. I returned to Australia armed with new goals , determination and a whole lot of enthusiasm. I had three simple objectives for Social Butterfly to fulfill…

1.Friendship
I wanted a club that would provide the opportunity for different women from a range of backgrounds and experiences to come together and foster new friendships and share experiences.

2. Fun
I wanted to form a social club to specifically cater for the interests of women. To revive the age old tradition of “girl time” . I wanted a club that encouraged women to enjoy all that life has to offer, whether they were in a relationship or not.

3. Inspiration
I wanted to create environment in which women could share stories, failures and triumphs . To learn from one another and grow. To motivate, inspire and support each others goals, hopes and dreams.

I have a vision for Social Butterfly, that this small initiative to bring our little Cairns community of women together will one day transcend all borders throughout the world. Just imagine the amount of peace, love and hope a million communities of women uniting together could foster . This dream begins with you… so take the first step…
